Statistical communiqué on economic and social development for 2025 released

On 25 September the National Development Commission published the Statistical Communiqué on Economic and Social Development for 2025, showing gross regional product of HLY 41.6 trillion, up 5.3 per cent on the previous year.

The National Development Commission released the Statistical Communiqué on Economic and Social Development for 2025 on 25 September. It covers the overall picture together with agriculture, industry and construction, services, domestic trade, fixed asset investment, the external economy, public finance and banking, living standards and social security, science and education, culture, tourism and health, and resources, environment and emergency management.

Overall

Preliminary estimates put gross regional product in 2025 at HLY 41.6 trillion, up 5.3 per cent year on year. Value added in the primary sector was HLY 2.1 trillion, up 3.1 per cent; in the secondary sector HLY 16.3 trillion, up 5.0 per cent; and in the tertiary sector HLY 23.2 trillion, up 5.7 per cent. The ratio of the three sectors was 5.1 : 39.2 : 55.7.

Population and living standards

At the end of the year the resident population stood at 87.42 million, of whom 53.61 million lived in urban areas, giving an urbanisation rate of 61.3 per cent. Per capita disposable income of all residents was HLY 43,800 for the year, up 5.8 per cent in nominal terms.

Resources and environment

Energy consumption per unit of gross regional product fell 3.1 per cent year on year. Clean energy accounted for 29.4 per cent of total energy consumption, 1.8 percentage points more than the year before.
