Ministry of Industry and Energy 护联工业与能源部

The Ministry of Industry and Energy is the department of the Central Government responsible for industrial sector management, energy supply security and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Main functions

  1. Draft development strategies, plans and industrial policy for industry and energy and organise their implementation.
  2. Monitor industrial economic performance and coordinate solutions to major sectoral problems.
  3. Balance energy production and supply and organise energy supply security.
  4. Advance energy mix adjustment and the development and use of renewable energy.
  5. Draft and implement policies and measures to promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
  6. Advance the development of major technical equipment and the strengthening of the industrial base.
  7. Administer the sectors producing industrial explosives and hazardous chemicals.
  8. Guide energy conservation, cleaner production and work safety management in industry.
  9. Undertake other matters assigned by the Central Government.
