Ministry of Justice 护联司法部

The Ministry of Justice is the department of the Central Government responsible for the development of the rule of law, legal services and the execution of criminal penalties.

Main functions

  1. Draft plans for the development of the rule of law and judicial administrative policy and organise their implementation.
  2. Draft and review draft laws and regulations of Hulian and coordinate the process.
  3. Administer the professions of lawyers, notaries, forensic appraisal and grassroots legal services.
  4. Organise and implement legal aid and judicial assistance.
  5. Administer the dissemination of law and the development of a culture of the rule of law.
  6. Guide prison administration, community correction and drug rehabilitation.
  7. Register, record and supervise arbitration institutions.
  8. Guide people’s mediation and administer sectoral and specialised mediation organisations.
  9. Undertake other matters assigned by the Central Government.
